The Importance of Being Earnest – “A trivial play for serious people” is a satirical comedy by Oscar Wilde set in 1895.

Friends Jack and Algernon weave a tangled web as they endeavour to court Lady Bracknell’s daughter Gwendolyn and Jack’s ward Cecily with a view to marriage. But…

…they are hampered by the fact that the two young ladies are determined to find a suitor with the name Ernest.

Our production will be enhanced Edwardian settings and period costumes.

The Importance of Being Earnest is directed by Sheila Hetherington and runs from

Tuesday 4th March 2024 to Saturday 8th March 2025
