Play Reading – Motherhood

This month’s play reading is a special one because it is a read through of our forthcoming production ‘Motherhood’ written by Felicity Barry, directed by Denise Barry, Felicity’s mother-in-law and presented on stage at Davenham in October.

Motherhood has an all female cast and deals with mother and daughter relationships from the 1950s and present day. Davenham members attended workshops last year to explore their own memories and experiences of childhood and family life. These workshops resulted in a piece of new writing which is both heartwarming and thought-provoking. Interestingly, director Denise plans to have an all-female backstage crew as well as an all-female cast! So come along if you are interested in helping out in any way.
